Esce su marchio Unicorn la nuova ristampa su CD di una registrazione non ufficiale più volte circolata sul mercato: si tratta delle prove, diffuse per radio e in modulazione di frequenza, del concerto che Jeff Beck e la sua band tennero al Tokyo Kokusai Forum il 2 giugno del 1999. Accompagnato dalla virtuosa chitarrista Jennifer Batten, dal bassista Randy Hope-Taylor e dal batterista Steve Alexander, Beck (voce e chitarra) esegue un set incentrato principalmente sul nuovo album "Who Else!" (sette brani, tra cui "Even Odds" di Jan Hammer e "Declan" del musicista folk irlandese Dónal Lunny) e in cui trovano posto anche "A Day In The Life" dei Beatles e "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" della ex moglie di Stevie Wonder Syreeta.
Released on the Unicorn label, this new CD reissue brings back into circulation a non-official recording that has appeared several times on the collectors' market. It documents the rehearsal—broadcast on FM radio—of the concert that Jeff Beck and his band performed at the Tokyo International Forum on June 2, 1999. Backed by virtuoso guitarist Jennifer Batten, bassist Randy Hope-Taylor and drummer Steve Alexander, Beck (vocals and guitar) delivers a set largely focused on material from his then-new album Who Else!. Seven tracks are drawn from the record, including “Even Odds” by Jan Hammer and “Declan” by Irish folk musician Dónal Lunny. The performance also makes room for a rendition of “A Day in the Life” by The Beatles and for the instrumental classic “Cause We've Ended As Lovers,” written by Syreeta, the former wife of Stevie Wonder.
